About the Artist

Jenée Rue Sastry is a photographic artist who currently lives in Louisville, KY. She received her BA from the University of California, Berkeley in history, is a certified User Experience practitioner, and recently received her BFA with honors from the Hite Art Institute, University of Louisville. Her interest in perception and cognition began in childhood and ultimately led to a career in Usability/Information Architecture, an interdisciplinary field whose purpose is to design systems that harmonize with how our minds work. She has helped Fortune 500 companies and startups alike to design experiences for over 20 years. Her images have been featured in The Courier-JournalToday's Woman as well as several exhibits including in the international exhibit, My World is a Family, for which she won a jury award. In her continuing series, The Box Maker, Jenée’s passion for learning about the human mind has found a visual expression. Her current work explores the intersection of some of the analytical and mysterious aspects of cognition.
